Interviewing:
made easy

It is not the brains that
matter most, but that
which guides them—the
character, the heart,
generous qualities,
progressive ideas.

Finding the perfect coach is easy if you know how to look.

1. Find out how and where the coach trained.

There are more than 50 coach training programs; each one has its own curriculum and standards for graduation; however only 11 are accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF).  Coach U's Certified Graduate Program, my training program, is a leader in coach training and has the highest standards for graduation in the industry. 2. Question the coach to find out:

,What types of assessment they use.
,What their communication style is.
,How they create a safe environment.
,How they facilitate learning and measure results.

3. Ask for client references and testimonials.

4. Ask how long they have been coaching and about other life experiences they bring to the partnership. (who is A.L.U.L.C.S.?)

5. Ask if they belong to coaching organizations that serve to improve their skills, standards, and self-awareness as a coach.
The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the only association that accredits coach training programs, provides recognized coaching certification credentials, and promotes industry-wide standards and ethics.  Coachville, the largest international organization, is the most recent and most comprehensive coaching support network started by, both CoachU and the ICF's founder, Thomas Leonard. 6. What does all of this mean to you?
,Did the coach answer all of your questions to your satisfaction?
,Did they explain anything you didn't understand?
,Did they listen to your questions and answer appropriately?
,Did you feel the coach could develop a valuable partnership with you?

If you answered yes, you may have found the perfect coach!
